I have left the state of Florida due to domestic abuse. We were not married and have a child in common. Prior to my leaving i had been in a womens abuse shelter until i recieved the funds and moved to my home in Texas. My Ex is now trying to find me to serve papers for full custody. I have established residence in Texas now for 5 weeks .."Apartment and Job" he does currently pay child support. Is it true that the state of Florida could make me move back to Florida? And would it be to my benefit or can i start the legal paper work here in Texas? I have agreed to share custody but do not think its safe for me to be in the same state. She is only 4 yrs. and obviously can not hop on a plan. Also, he does have a prior history of domestic abuse with myself and his Ex -wife.
