minor nephew kicked out of his home, by fathers girlfriend

we went to juvenile court, father saying he ran away.father ask me to take him home with me, he has not called or come to see him. no type of financial support. minor receives ssi but his father gets it! girlfriend has abused minor an father has allowed it. juvie court says father needs to file legal custody papers but im not sure this will happen. we live in ga! school starts soon an i cant enroll cause im not his legal guardian! can minor file abuse charges on girlfriend!!

  Sounds like this going to take a trip to court to enforce child support, legal guardianship, etc.

You can also call Child Protective Services if he's been abused, but be aware they can take him from you and put him in the care of strangers....the police could be called, but if there are no marks or other evidence, it may be fruitless.

Any legal aid help in your area?  I'd call the local county courthouse and find out.  Good luck...seems the child is lucky to have you in his corner.

I am goin to call juvie court mon an push for this to go to court, the gf needs to be exposed! my nephew has a sister an she will be commmin to live with me also, she turns 18 soon! she could sing about what she knows. is this right direction for us to go in

I think so...obviously dad isn't going to do anything for his child if he isn't forced to do so.  The more witnesses, the better.

if it goes to court, they told us he, minor child will be appointed a lawyer.

Perfect!  He needs one to look out for his legal interests.  The lawyer should know how to best approach all the issues.

I feel I need to ruffles some feathers!!! The gf thinks she gona walk scott free, surely my nephews has rights. he told juvie court he would rather go anywhere than under same roof with gf!! he is 16 an I can see the emotional damadge in him! he ask to do everything, wont make a move without say so!! thats messed up. thanks for answering me

Ask the court or lawyer if they could possibly provide counseling for this boy; I'm sure he needs it after all he's been through!

they said he ran away but he say she kicked him out! they filed run away charges, he turned himself in an i showed up at juvie court an thats when father ask me to take him, he said he would have to think about custody! i hope an pray this goes to court, we need a judge!!!!

i think we should press charges against the gf for physical an emotional abuse

so we go to court and father decides he doesnt want his laundry aired! he signs all paper wk for temp custody an then leaves without paying fees!! im still powerless to do anything medically, financial, school!!! atty says she try to contact him!!!

You probably should have gotten DFCS involved. If DFCS gives you custody (more likely than not), you get child support and you or the state would probably get the SSI.

You would also get all the 'stuff' you need to enroll him in school etc...

We went to court an his father signd temporary custdy, BUT, he failed to pay the filing fees for it to be legal an ive contactd him an told him. he say he cant pay it right. can 16 yr old son atty take him bak to court an make him pay it! I cant get him in school, take him to dr, no ssi support! what to do! what to do! I dont know what to do
