I worked for a large company , In the begining I started out with 19 hours a week. I was already working a part-time job 10-12 hours a week. The two jobs allowed me to have a full time income.
Things began to change, new stores were open and my hours increased with my first job. Rumors were circulating that we were going to loose our job due to the company loosing the account. So as hard as it was I stayed on with the part time job, about $90 a week. As time went on over the year we were re-evaluated, job discription changed ,hours changed, work changed to standing for an 8 hour day two to three days a week in addition to travel. They called us out of town for a meeting in March and ask who wanted to leave to do it now. I hung in there thinking things would improve ,they did not. We received our letter of seperation and were told our last day was July 9,2010. So my husband and I looked at our situation and decided to make a major move. We could no longer make our house payment and decided to move to an area that was doing ecomically better . I stayed on my second job and gave my notice on 7-21-10, I did not go into detail that my house was going into forclosure and I was selling my car and my daughter has post partum depression and my husband and I at the time were going to have a baby to raise, I just told my employer it was a personal decision because they told me not to go into detail just to write a short note of resignation so I did.
But as I submitted my claim with UN I did go into some detail. The reason I quit the part time 10 hour job is because
#1 The company does not hire any full time employees
#2 Relocating
I received a denial letter and the reason given was that the reason I quit was personal.
I am actively searching for work in the county we are moving to I am registered with UI and have a resume on their website and also a website called Narms and Indeed for the type of work I do.
Thanks , I pretty sure your news is not going to be favorable but I'm going to appeal with hopes someone will see the position I am in.
