Until you are your full retirement age, which probably is 66 for you, if your earn more than about $14k or 15k a year, o start giving back some of your Social Security benefits. If you earn more than about $38k a year, you probably will give them all back. Once you reach the birth month in which you are 66, SSA will no longer care about your earnings.
