    Judges fnal decission

Our trial for divorce and her request for relocation has been over for three weeks. My ex wife continues to keep the children from me stating that the judge in the emerency motion to return to florida gave her 100% custody.

My question is how ong does a Judge have to make and sign the final order?

Does the judge have forever to make a decission?

What recourse do I have to get the Judge to take action?

Unless there is some sort of order the EX has no such entitlement at all--what makes you think she is telling the truth?

Yes, I stated what the only order in the case has been. She has control until the Judge rules on the entire divorce trial that included a relocation request by her. That Trial was over three weeks ago.

My Question was How long does a Florida Judge have to make a ruling?

Is there any way to get the Judge to return a ruling more quickly?

What is considered " Reasonable Time" to make a final decission?

The Florida judges just wrapped up elections, and they really can take as long as they want.  I was not able to find anything relating to restrictions on making rulings.

If you make an effort to get a judge to make a ruling more quickly, I would try to do it gently.  Actually I wouldn't try to do it at all, however, I am a little more patient than most.  You can try calling the case worker at the court house or the judge's judicial assistant to inquire about the status of your case.

"Reasonable time" is subjective and situational.

Each judge is different but 3 weeks is too long

As a consumer, it is my experience that if you call a Judicial Assistant, all you get is a voice mail telling you that no messages are taken.

It's work, but I would file a simple motion of contempt and a motion for disposition to the Court.  Type it up simply with the case# the plaintiff and the respondent.  Then if you can, go down to the Court house and have it hand stamped with the date.  Bring an extra copy so you have a hand stamp as well.
